MG Motor Surges Ahead in Middle East Car Market

MG Motor has made significant progress in the Middle East’s competitive car market, climbing to the 5th position in 2023. With a total of 63,691 units sold and a market share of 4.2 percent, MG’s sales increased by 10.8 percent, maintaining its streak of double-digit growth since entering the region.

Expanding Market Presence in Oman and Iraq

One of MG’s key achievements has been its strong presence in Oman and Iraq, where it holds significant market share. In Oman, MG enjoys a 10 percent market share and ranks second in the country, while in Iraq, it has a 9.9 percent market share, placing it in fourth position. This growth is a testament to the brand’s growing popularity and customer trust in the region.

Growing Sales and After-Sales Network

To meet the increasing demand for its vehicles in the Middle East, MG plans to open 17 new showrooms in 2024, in addition to the existing 49 showrooms. The brand also intends to open 26 new service facilities, bringing the total number of service centers to 73. This expansion is aimed at enhancing customer service and ensuring a seamless experience for MG owners.

Innovative Product Lineup

MG is known for its commitment to innovation, with a strong focus on technological advancements in its vehicles. The MG 5 and MG ZS were the top-performing models in 2023, with sales of 23,321 units and 11,285 units respectively. These models showcase MG’s dedication to offering cutting-edge features and superior performance to its customers.

Expansion into New Markets

In 2023, MG expanded its presence into Morocco and Palestine, in addition to forming a new partnership in Saudi Arabia with Jiad Modern Motors, a Mohamed Yousuf Naghi company. This expansion into new markets reflects MG’s commitment to reaching a wider audience and making its popular car models accessible to more customers.
