When it comes to trucks, Texas is the largest market in the United States, and Jeep is well aware of this fact. To celebrate the Lone Star State, Jeep has unveiled the new Gladiator Texas Trail, a special edition based on the Sport S trim level. This version of the Gladiator comes with unique features that pay homage to Texas, including mud-terrain tires, a body-colored hardtop, and Texas-inspired exterior decals.
The 2024 Gladiator Texas Trail builds on the success of the 2021 Texas Trail trim. This special edition model sports 17-inch black-painted wheels wrapped in 32-inch mud-terrain tires, a body-colored hard top, body-colored wheel arch flares, and steel rock rails. Additionally, it features edition-specific decals that highlight the year 1836, the year Texans declared independence from Mexico and established the Republic of Texas.
In terms of color options, buyers can choose from Black, Bright White, Granite Crystal, Hydro Blue, Firecracker Red, High Velocity, and Anvil. The Texas Trail also benefits from the visual updates introduced to the regular Gladiator model for 2024, which includes a redesigned seven-slot grille.
Moving to the interior, Jeep has not released photos yet, but the Texas Trail is said to come with black leather upholstery, heated front seats, heated door mirrors, and a heated steering wheel – something that can come in handy during colder Texas weather. The infotainment system is controlled through a 12.3-inch touchscreen display.
Powering the Gladiator Texas Trail is the reliable 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine, producing 285 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. This engine is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and a two-speed transfer case, allowing the Gladiator to tow up to 7,700 pounds.
The Gladiator Texas Trail is available exclusively in Texas, with a starting price of $49,985, including a $1,895 destination charge. For comparison, the 2021 Texas Trail was priced at $41,930, while the 2024 Sport S starts at $43,290. Sales are set to begin in May, giving Texas buyers the opportunity to get their hands on this special edition model. However, if you’re outside of Texas and still want a unique Gladiator, Jeep has also introduced a new Jeep Beach Edition for the 2024 model year.
With its Texas-inspired design and special features, the Gladiator Texas Trail is sure to appeal to truck enthusiasts in the Lone Star State and beyond. Whether you’re navigating urban streets or exploring off-road terrain, this special edition Gladiator is built to handle it all.
