Nissan Launches Special Edition 2024 Patrol Super Safari in the GCC Region
In February 2024, Nissan announced the launch of the special edition 2024 Patrol Super Safari to celebrate the iconic SUV’s esteemed position in the Nissan Patrol line-up in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region. Named ‘Al Ostoura,’ meaning ‘The Legend’ in Arabic, the exclusive model pays tribute to the Patrol Super Safari’s rich heritage and strong connection to the people of the region.
The Legacy of the Patrol Super Safari
The Patrol Super Safari, known as the “VTC,” is based on the fifth-generation Nissan Patrol, which was initially produced from 1997 to 2010. Its outstanding all-terrain capabilities and class-leading power made it a popular choice for off-road enthusiasts and thrill-seekers in the Gulf region. Due to high demand, the Patrol Super Safari was reintroduced in 2016 and has been in production ever since.
Design and Features of the 2024 ‘Al Ostoura’ Edition
The 2024 ‘Al Ostoura’ edition is a testament to the fifth-generation Patrol’s legacy, featuring exterior and interior enhancements inspired by the region’s desert landscape. Special badges on the SUV’s rear pillar and engine display ‘Al Ostoura since 1951’ in Arabic calligraphy, along with the vehicle’s iconic silhouette. The design motif of Arabian desert dunes is evident on the spare tire cover, fender garnish, and interior elements like the centre console badge and floor mats. The SUV comes in two exterior color schemes, complemented by 17-inch alloy wheels and unique body stickers.
Thierry Sabbagh, President of Nissan Saudi Arabia and Managing Director of Nissan Middle East, expressed gratitude to the loyal customers who have made the Patrol Super Safari a cherished part of the region’s heritage. The ‘Al Ostoura’ special edition captures the spirit of the iconic SUV and celebrates its emotional connection to GCC nationals and expatriates alike.
Legendary ‘Al Ostoura’ Performance
The 2024 Patrol Super Safari Al Ostoura is equipped with a 4.8-liter in-line six-cylinder engine, delivering 280 horsepower and 451 Nm of torque. With Valve Timing Control (VTC) and Nissan Induction Control System (NICS), the vehicle offers exceptional off-road performance and impressive highway speed. The SUV features a 5-speed automatic or manual transmission, electronically controlled power steering, cruise control, tire pressure monitoring system, ABS, dual-front SRS airbags, and Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) for a safe and connected driving experience on and off the road.
