Possible Exit for 2025 Audi Q8 E-Tron Includes Minor Changes

The 2025 Audi Q8 E-Tron electric SUV has received some minor changes for the new model year, but there are reports indicating that it may be discontinued in the near future. Launched for the 2024 model year, the Q8 E-Tron replaced the Audi E-Tron as the automaker’s first volume EV. It retained the good safety ratings of the E-Tron, but with improvements in driving range and handling.

For the 2025 model year, Audi has added access to an app store for the infotainment system and integrated Homelink buttons into the rearview mirror. The park assist system has also been upgraded to a remote version, allowing drivers to engage it from outside the vehicle. In addition, there is an available Magnesium trim package and different exterior trim options to choose from.

The Q8 E-Tron continues to be offered in both standard SUV and Sportback body styles, with a 114-kWh battery pack and dual-motor all-wheel-drive powertrain that produces 402 hp and 490 lb-ft of torque. While EPA ratings are not yet available for the 2025 model year, the 2024 Q8 E-Tron had a maximum range of 300 miles in Sportback form and 285 miles in standard SUV form.

There is also a sportier SQ8 E-Tron model available, featuring a tri-motor powertrain with an output of 496 hp and 718 lb-ft of torque. This allows for an Audi-estimated 0-60 mph time of 4.5 seconds, compared to 5.6 seconds for the Q8 E-Tron models. Pricing for the Q8 E-Tron starts at $76,095 for the base Premium spec, with Premium Plus and Prestige grades also available at higher prices. The Sportback models are priced $3,400 higher than the standard SUV models.

The SQ8 E-Tron skips the Premium grade and starts at $91,495 in Premium Plus spec and $97,495 in Prestige spec for the SUV body style. The Sportback body style adds an additional $2,800 to the price. Audi utilizes various architectures for its EV lineup, with the Q8 E-Tron based on the original E-Tron platform, the Q4 E-Tron using the MEB platform from Volkswagen, and the E-Tron GT sharing the J1 platform with Porsche Taycan. The 2025 Q6 E-Tron will introduce the PPE architecture shared with the Porsche Macan Electric.

Given the uncertainty surrounding the future of the 2025 Audi Q8 E-Tron, it is important to appreciate the latest updates and offerings from this electric SUV before it potentially exits the market.
