The 2025 Polestar 4 electric SUV coupe is set to hit the market with a starting price of $56,300, with orders beginning in April and deliveries scheduled for the fourth quarter in the U.S. The vehicle will be available in various configurations, including the base Long Range Single Motor model, as well as the Pilot Pack, Pro Pack, and Plus Pack options.
### Pricing and Configurations
The base Long Range Single Motor model starts at $56,300, while the Long Range Dual Motor model starts at $64,300, both including a $1,400 destination charge. Additional packages such as the Pilot Pack, Pro Pack, and Plus Pack are available for different configurations, with prices ranging from $57,800 to $74,300.
### Performance and Power
All Polestar 4 versions come equipped with a 102-kWh Long Range battery pack and 200-kW peak fast-charging capability. Dual Motor models offer a significant increase in power, with 544 hp and 506 lb-ft of torque compared to the Single Motor models’ 272 hp and 253 lb-ft. The Dual Motor models also boast quicker acceleration, with a 0-60 mph time of 3.7 seconds compared to 6.9 seconds for the Single Motor models.
### Manufacturing and Production
Initially, U.S. versions of the Polestar 4 will be sourced from China, with plans to shift production to a Renault plant in South Korea starting in 2025. This agreement with Renault will help navigate U.S. trade policies that may disadvantage China-manufactured EVs. Similarly, the Polestar 3 SUV, due to start deliveries in the second quarter, will also initially come from China, with plans for U.S. production in South Carolina in the future.
### Design Features
The Polestar 4 offers a sleek and innovative design, with a rear window-free design that may be polarizing for some. Polestar argues that the rear camera provides better visibility without the obstruction of roof pillars and seats, while also allowing for sufficient rear-seat headroom. The design decision aims to streamline the vehicle’s shape and improve overall aerodynamics.
### Future Models
The Polestar 3 and 4 will pave the way for the flagship Polestar 5, which will utilize new large-format battery cells from SK On to enhance driving range. With a focus on electric mobility and cutting-edge technology, Polestar continues to push the boundaries of sustainable transportation with its lineup of electric vehicles.
