Base Trim of the 2025 Cadillac Lyriq Gets a Price Drop

The 2025 Cadillac Lyriq has undergone a pricing and trim level reshuffle, with the previous Tech base trim being dropped in favor of lower prices for the remaining trim levels. This move aims to make the electric luxury SUV more accessible to a wider range of consumers.

The 2024 Lyriq Tech, which started at $58,590, lacked many standard features that are now included in the base model for 2025, the Luxury 1 grade. Despite the addition of more features, Cadillac has managed to lower the price of the Luxury 1 by $2,700, bringing it to $59,990 including the $1,395 destination charge. The Sport 1 grade sits just above this at $61,090, which is $2,100 less than the 2024 model year pricing.

In addition to the changes in pricing for the base models, Cadillac has also reduced the prices of the Luxury 2 and Sport 2 grades by $2,000, now starting at $64,990 and $65,490 respectively. The top Luxury 3 and Sport 3 grades have seen a $2,220 price reduction, with the Luxury 3 at $68,390 and the Sport 3 at $68,890.

The Lyriq continues to offer a single-motor rear-wheel drive powertrain with 340 hp and 325 lb-ft of torque as standard. An optional dual-motor all-wheel drive powertrain is available for an additional $3,500, which increases the output to 500 hp and 450 lb-ft. All Lyriq models come equipped with a 102-kwh battery pack, with EPA range ratings of 314 miles for single-motor models and 307 miles for dual-motor models.

In terms of equipment updates for 2025, standard OnStar telematics features and front-passenger memory have been added. The Luxury 2 and Sport 2 grades now come with a standard Technology Package that includes a hands-free tailgate and rearview camera mirror, as well as more color choices for the interior ambient lighting system.

The Lyriq was introduced for the 2023 model year as Cadillac’s first EV based on General Motors’ Ultium architecture. While Cadillac is expanding its EV lineup with models like the Optiq and Vistiq, GM is reportedly reconsidering its plans to make the Cadillac brand all-electric by 2030. Despite this uncertainty, the 2025 Cadillac Lyriq continues to offer a blend of luxury, performance, and technology in the electric SUV segment.
