Rolls-Royce Unveils Phantom Scintilla Collection
Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has recently introduced a collection of 10 cars called the Phantom Scintilla, inspired by the iconic Spirit of Ecstasy statuette that adorns the hood of their vehicles. The collection is designed to celebrate the ethereal beauty, grace, and legacy of the Spirit of Ecstasy. The interiors of these vehicles are inspired by the apparent movement of her robes as the car glides by.
Phantom Scintilla’s Exquisite Design and Features
One of the Phantom Scintilla models, the ultra-luxury sedan, is currently on display at the Monterey Car Week event. While no prices have been disclosed for the collection, it is reported that all 10 units have already been sold, with only three making their way to the United States. The roof of the Phantom Scintilla is coated in Andalusian White, while Thracian Blue covers everything from the window line down. The Spirit of Ecstasy ornament is rendered in ceramic white, inspired by the Winged Victory of Samothrace.
Inside the vehicle, the seats are adorned with cloth upholstery featuring a flowing graphic design made up of 869,500 stitches of embroidery on the seats and doors. The headliner features Rolls-Royce’s signature Starlight illumination motif, with 1,500 tiny fiber-optic lights arranged in a wavy pattern. Additionally, the car features what Rolls-Royce refers to as its Celestial Pulse Gallery artwork, consisting of seven individually milled aluminum ribbons in the same ceramic finish as the statuette.
Performance and Innovation of the Phantom Scintilla
Despite the luxury and exclusivity of the Phantom Scintilla, it does not lack in performance. The vehicle is powered by a 563-horsepower twin-turbo V-12 engine paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive. An innovative pothole-spotting camera helps the suspension adapt to road imperfections, providing a comfortable and smooth ride for passengers.
Rolls-Royce CEO Chris Brownbridge emphasized the significance of unveiling a Private Collection of this caliber. He stated that the limited number of examples in the Phantom Scintilla Collection are true masterpieces that showcase the ingenuity and skill of the creatives and craftspeople at Rolls-Royce. These exclusive vehicles serve as an inspiration for clients to explore their own commissions and tailor-made luxury experiences.
