Introduction
Maserati recently unveiled the GT2 Stradale, a new supercar based on the MC20 that has been enhanced for increased performance and a more aggressive design. With a focus on extreme aero and track-focused features, the GT2 Stradale promises to be a thrilling driving experience.
Enhanced Exterior Design
The GT2 Stradale features a new design with extreme aero elements that set it apart from the MC20. A “shark nose” front bumper, larger intakes, redesigned rear intakes, and a massive rear wing contribute to a significant increase in downforce compared to the MC20. The car boasts a total of 1,102 pounds of downforce at 174 mph, greatly surpassing the MC20’s 320 pounds at the same speed.
Powerful Performance
Under the hood, the GT2 Stradale is powered by a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 engine that delivers 640 horsepower and 531 pound-feet of torque. With a 0-62 mph time of just 2.8 seconds and a top speed of 201 mph, the GT2 Stradale is a true powerhouse. Maserati made modifications to the turbochargers, exhaust manifolds, and exhaust to extract an additional 10 horsepower for the GT2 Stradale.
Track-Ready Features
The GT2 Stradale comes equipped with a GT2-spec suspension, a new steering system designed for track use, and high-performance brakes developed in collaboration with Brembo. The car also features revised drive modes, stability control, traction control, and ABS systems, as well as a unique drive mode called "Corsa EVO" for track enthusiasts. Optional Performance Packs add features such as Michelin “semi-slick” tires, carbon ceramic brakes, and four-point racing belts for those looking for an even more hardcore experience.
Extreme Interior Design
On the inside, the GT2 Stradale offers a race-inspired interior with a minimalist center console, carbon fiber bucket seats in two sizes, and a redesigned steering wheel with shift lights. The car retains the MC20’s UConnect infotainment system, digital cluster, premium sound system, and driver assistance systems for added convenience and comfort during longer drives.
Customization and Pricing
While pricing details have not been released, it is expected that the GT2 Stradale will be priced above the MC20’s starting price of $242,995. The car is available in four standard colors, with the option to choose from a range of finishes through Maserati’s Fuoriserie customization program. The stunning Digital Aurora Matte finish seen in the launch photos is just one of the many customization options available for the GT2 Stradale.
In conclusion, the Maserati GT2 Stradale is a bold and exciting addition to the supercar market, offering a perfect blend of performance, design, and track-focused features for discerning enthusiasts.
