Introduced as the latest addition to Mini’s all-new lineup, the camouflaged Mini Cooper JCW E Prototype has been making waves. Set to make its public debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, this electric vehicle follows in the footsteps of other Mini variants that have been revealed over the past few months. With an advanced electric powertrain boasting cutting-edge technology, the JCW E is expected to offer a more powerful performance than its predecessors.
## Advanced Electric Powertrain
The Mini Cooper JCW E Prototype is expected to feature the same 54.2-kWh battery as other Mini electric models but will boast a front-mounted motor that produces more than the 215 horsepower and 253 pound-feet of torque found in the Cooper SE and Cooper SE JCW. Mini’s engineers have worked to maintain the iconic “go-kart feeling” of the gas-powered JCW, adapting the electric model with larger wheels, wider tires, stiffer suspension, and larger brakes to enhance grip and handling.
## Design Homage
The red and white camouflage of the Mini JCW E Prototype pays tribute to the color schemes used in the 1960s for Minis in motorsports. The “37” logo on the vehicle commemorates the #37 Mini Cooper’s victory in the 1964 Rallye Monte Carlo. Additionally, the windshield displays “Bulldog Racing,” highlighting the team’s recent success at the Nürburgring 24-Hour race with a camouflaged Mini.
## Global Reveal
Following its run up the hill at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, the Mini JCW E Prototype is set to be globally revealed in autumn this year. With Mini’s commitment to electrification and innovation, this new electric variant promises an exciting driving experience that stays true to the brand’s heritage while embracing cutting-edge technology. Stay tuned for more updates on the Mini Cooper JCW E Prototype and its upcoming launch.
