The first image shows the pickup from the back, showcasing a new rear fascia with larger corner cutouts and trim extending further up the sides. The second image provides a close-up of the new Santa Cruz grille, featuring rectangular cutouts instead of the previous blade designs. Both teaser images are identified as the rugged-themed XRT trim, which adds bold plastic fender flares, side steps, door trim, and a blackout treatment to the truck.
Hyundai’s mention of extra capability in the new Santa Cruz may hint at the XRT trim receiving some off-road upgrades. With the Ford Maverick as its main competitor in the small truck segment, which offers an FX4 package with functional off-road components, it would make sense for Hyundai to enhance the Santa Cruz’s capabilities. The 281-horsepower turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine connected to an eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox driving all four wheels remains the same in the XRT trim.
