The final current-generation Quattroporte is also Maserati’s last V8 vehicle

Maserati Bids Farewell to V8 Engine: A Look at the Grand Finale Quattroporte and Iris MC20

Maserati made a significant announcement in late 2023 when it revealed that it would be saying goodbye to the V8 engine. The Italian automaker unveiled limited-edition versions of the Ghibli and Levante, and then built its final V8 engine in July 2024. This engine found its home in the final current-generation Quattroporte, also known as the Grand Finale.

### The Grand Finale Quattroporte
To commemorate the end of the V8 era, Maserati’s Fuoriserie department created a unique model called the Grand Finale. This one-of-a-kind sedan features a dark blue exterior known as Blu Nobile, with subtle body-colored carbon fiber accents and brushed-aluminum brake calipers. The interior exudes luxury with wood trim, black-stitched trident logos, and leather upholstery. Despite no mechanical changes, the sedan boasts a powerful 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged V8 producing 572 horsepower and 538 pound-feet of torque.

### The Iris MC20
Simultaneously unveiled was the one-off Iris MC20, a rainbow-themed vehicle painted in AI Aqua Rainbow with white accents. The interior features this same color scheme with blue accents on the seats and door panels. The MC20, powered by a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine generating 621 horsepower, marks the beginning of the Nettuno era for Maserati, replacing the V8 engine.

### The Enthusiast’s New Pride
Both the Grand Finale Quattroporte and Iris MC20 were delivered to an American entrepreneur in the biomedical sector, further perpetuating their exclusive status in the automotive world. These final editions serve as a poignant farewell to the V8 engine and a promising start to a new era for Maserati.
