5. Release Date and Availability
The updated Genesis GV70 features several small design details that differentiate it from the current model. One of the most noticeable changes is the new grille, which now comes with a dual-weave mesh finish and bright accents. The headlights have also been redesigned, and the front bumper now includes a wider air dam and a bright trim piece resembling a skid plate. At the rear, redesigned lights with integrated turn signals, a rear-view camera, and a roof-mounted spoiler contribute to a more streamlined look. Additionally, the GV70 gains newly-designed 19-inch wheels with a Dark Hyper Silver finish and five split spokes.
Inside, the biggest change is the addition of a single 27-inch OLED screen that combines the digital instrument cluster and infotainment display. The center console has also been redesigned, with touch-sensitive buttons and a volume knob located in the upper part, and the climate control system buttons moved down and grouped into a separate touch-sensitive display.
Buyers in select markets will have the option to add a Sport package to their GV70. This package includes a double-layer grille, larger front air intakes, a dark-chrome-finished rear diffuser, and 21-inch wheels, among other features. Sport models will also receive a flat-bottom steering wheel and orange stitching for a sportier look and feel.
While no specific mechanical updates have been announced, the GV70 currently comes standard with a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 300 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque. There is also an available twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 engine delivering 375 horsepower and 391 pound-feet of torque. Both engines come with all-wheel drive as standard.
The updated Genesis GV70 is set to go on sale in South Korea in May 2024. While there is no official confirmation of the release date in the American market, it has been confirmed that the GV70 will be available in the United States for the 2026 model year.
Overall, the refreshed GV70 promises a blend of exterior design changes, interior tech upgrades, and optional sport package enhancements to attract buyers seeking a luxurious and modern SUV option from Genesis.
