The Audi A3 in 2025: Going Quattro-Only and Increasing Torque

Audi has recently introduced details about the 2025 A3 Quattro for the North American market. This new version ditches the front-wheel-drive option, making it a Quattro-only model. The turbocharged 2.0-liter gasoline engine now delivers 236 pound-feet of torque, an increase of 15 lb-ft, while the horsepower remains at 201 hp. With the boost in torque, Audi claims the 2025 A3 is now 0.3 seconds quicker to reach 60 mph, taking six seconds flat to achieve this speed. The S3 variant has also been updated, now reaching 60 mph in just 4.4 seconds with a total of 328 hp. Both models continue to maintain the European design with minor changes for the North American market.

Design and Features

The 2025 US-spec Audi A3 comes with standard 17-inch V-spoke wheels, with an optional upgrade to 18-inch five-double-spoke alloy wheels in a two-tone finish. There are four new body colors available: Arkona White, Arrow Gray pearl effect, Progressive Red metallic, and District Green metallic. Inside, the A3 features a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10.1-inch touchscreen, ambient lighting, two USB-C ports in the front, and two in the back. The S3 model boasts additional features such as dual-zone automatic climate control, contour lighting, stainless steel pedals, a black headliner, and illuminated door sills. The S3 also includes the rear torque splitter from the RS3 model.

Pricing and Availability

The 2025 Audi A3 Quattro starts at $39,495 for the Premium trim level, making it $600 more expensive than the previous year’s model. The S3 model now begins at $49,995, an increase of $1,500. The RS3 model, although not officially announced for the North American market, is expected to be slightly more expensive than the outgoing model, with an anticipated starting price of $63,395 before options. The RS3 model debuted in Europe last month.

Comparison to European Models

While the US-spec Audi A3 remains similar to the European version in terms of design and features, some differences are worth noting. The US market only offers the sedan version of the A3, while Europe also sells a five-door Sportback variant. Additionally, the pricing and availability of certain models may vary between the two regions. However, the core design and performance of the 2025 A3 and S3 models are consistent with the European counterparts.

Future of Audi’s A3 Lineup

With the latest updates to the 2025 A3 and S3 models, Audi continues to showcase its commitment to providing luxury compact sedans with high-performance capabilities. The introduction of the Quattro-only A3 variant demonstrates Audi’s focus on driving dynamics and handling, appealing to enthusiasts seeking a thrilling driving experience. As Audi plans for future iterations of the A3 lineup, we can expect further advancements in technology, design, and performance to solidify its position in the competitive luxury compact sedan market. Audi enthusiasts can look forward to upcoming releases and enhancements to the A3 model range in the coming years.
