The 2025 Hyundai Ioniq Introduces Off-Road Trim and NACS After Long Wait

The Hyundai Ioniq 5 is one of the best EVs on sale today, offering good looks, healthy range, and a smooth driving experience. The new 2025 model brings even more improvements, with the addition of a new off-road-ready XRT trim and standard NACS-style charging.

Hyundai has made significant changes to the Ioniq 5 lineup for 2025, including increased battery sizes, new exterior styling elements, and updated interior features. The XRT model stands out with a 0.9-inch suspension lift, unique suspension tuning, and all-terrain tires. Additionally, it boasts unique front and rear bumpers, red-painted tow hooks, and improved approach and departure angles.

Under the hood, the XRT model comes with the larger battery and dual-motor AWD as standard, catering to its off-roading aspirations. While power figures have not been released, previous dual-motor trims offered impressive performance figures. The addition of a NACS-style charging port opens the door to access Tesla’s extensive Supercharger network, providing more convenient charging options for Ioniq 5 owners.

Other updates to the 2025 Ioniq 5 lineup include new bumpers, a spoiler, enhanced aerodynamic wheels, and new matte color options. The interior has also been refreshed with a new climate control layout, USB-C ports, physical seat heater controls, and wireless connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The 2025 model will be eligible for a $3,750 tax credit and will be produced at Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America facility in Georgia.

Overall, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 continues to impress with its blend of style, range, and technology, making it a compelling option in the affordable EV market. The new XRT trim adds a rugged edge to the lineup, catering to those who seek a capable off-road electric vehicle. With the improvements and updates for 2025, the Ioniq 5 remains a standout choice for eco-conscious drivers looking for a versatile and efficient daily driver.
