The 2025 BMW 2 Series Shows Minor Changes

BMW’s been on a tear updating its lineup lately. On Wednesday, the automaker revealed the updated 2 Series, with sales set to begin in August. A slight price increase bumps the whole lineup over the $40,000 mark. As far as we can tell, there are no mechanical changes for the 2 Series, with the 230i’s 2.0-liter four-cylinder and M240i’s 3.0-liter ‘six carried over as before. Both come standard with an eight-speed automatic transmission, with xDrive all-wheel drive a $2,000 option.

New Features and Pricing

Outside, the updated 2 Series is distinguished by new optional features such as the “M Sport Professional” package with blacked-out trim and additional spoiler. There are also new color options available. Inside, the infotainment system runs BMW’s iDrive 8.5 system, making it easier to use. Standard ambient lighting has been added to the climate-control vents, along with new steering wheel designs and standard heated seats.

Exterior Updates

The updated 2 Series features few exterior changes, with the most notable updates being the new color options available and the addition of the “M Sport Professional” package with blacked-out trim and an additional spoiler. The Vegas Red and Zandvoort Blue color options add a fresh look to the lineup.

Interior Upgrades

Inside the 2 Series, the most significant update is the inclusion of BMW’s iDrive 8.5 system for the infotainment system, which makes it easier to use. Standard ambient lighting integrated into the climate-control vents adds a touch of luxury, while new steering wheel designs and standard heated seats enhance comfort and style.

Performance and Powertrain

The 230i model of the 2 Series retains its 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, producing 255 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. The M240i model keeps its 3.0-liter ‘six engine, delivering 382 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque. Both models come standard with an eight-speed automatic transmission, with xDrive all-wheel drive available as an optional feature.

Price Adjustments

With the updates to the 2 Series lineup, there are slight price increases for the 2025 models compared to the 2024 models. The 230i starts at $40,375, the 230i xDrive at $42,375, the M240i at $51,275, and the M240i xDrive at $53,275. Despite the price increase, the updated 2 Series offers a range of new features and enhancements.
