The Kona now offers a more spacious interior with improved rear legroom and additional cargo space. The redesign has brought the Kona in line with its competitors in terms of headroom, legroom, and cargo capacity. The Kona’s fuel economy and electric range vary depending on the powertrain option chosen, with multiple engine choices available.
Driving the Kona offers a mix of performance and efficiency based on the powertrain selection. The handling of the Kona is enjoyable, with responsive steering and tidy body control. While some models may lack the power increase, the driving experience is still commendable. The Kona Electric model, despite a reduction in torque, offers a composed and punchy performance.
The 2024 Kona comes with a variety of trim levels, with pricing starting at $25,435 for the base SE model. The higher trims offer additional features and options, with the N-Line and Limited models providing sportier or more luxurious aesthetics. Pricing for the Kona Electric starts higher than the gasoline model, with three trim levels available.
Safety features in the 2024 Kona include standard forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot warning, and adaptive cruise control. The IIHS has awarded the Kona a Top Safety Pick+ rating, with high scores in crash tests and safety features implementation. However, the NHTSA safety rating is still pending for the new model.
