**Nissan’s Business Plan for North America and Globally**
Nissan is embarking on a new three-year business plan that includes the launch of seven new models in North America and a refresh of 78% of its U.S. lineup by 2026. The plan also involves the launch of 30 new models globally, with a focus on both electric and gas-fed powertrains. In addition, Nissan aims to reduce the price of its next-gen EVs by sharing development costs, with the goal of achieving cost parity between EV and ICE models by 2030.
**Investment in Integrated Customer Experience**
As part of its business plan, Nissan plans to invest $200 million in its integrated customer experience in the United States. This investment is aimed at increasing North American sales by 330,000 units by 2026 compared to 2023. While the powertrains of the new U.S.-bound vehicles have not been revealed, Nissan has confirmed that some of them will be electrified. This includes the launch of plug-in hybrid models and the introduction of the e-Power system, which features a gas engine that acts as a generator to power the electric motor(s) that drive the wheels.
**Global Electrification Strategy**
Within the next three years, Nissan plans to launch 30 new models globally, with 16 of them being electrified and 14 having internal combustion engines. The company aims for electrified vehicles to account for 40% of global sales by 2026 and 60% by 2030. By significantly reducing the cost of next-gen EVs and achieving pricing parity with ICE models by 2030, Nissan hopes to drive value and strengthen competitiveness in the evolving automotive market.
**Strategic Partnerships and Market Volatility**
Nissan’s business plan also includes a focus on strategic partnerships, a broad product offensive, and new engineering and manufacturing approaches to improve global sales. The company is taking decisive actions guided by the new plan to ensure sustainable growth and profitability in the face of extreme market volatility. CEO Makoto Uchida emphasizes that the plan represents Nissan’s continuous progression and ability to navigate changing market conditions, driving the company further and faster toward its future goals.
