Mercedes-Benz has teamed up with Starbucks to bring high-power charging stations to over 100 Starbucks locations in the United States, starting on the West Coast. The initiative is part of Mercedes-Benz’s goal to become fully carbon-neutral by 2039. The collaboration aims to uplift the charging experience for all EV drivers and make it as easy as enjoying a favorite Starbucks drink.
Mercedes-Benz High-Power Charging North America is spearheading the partnership, with plans to work with various companies to install fast chargers in new and innovative locations. The first 400-kW fast charging station was launched in November 2023, and the goal is to expand the charging network over the next 12 to 18 months across the country.
The collaboration between these two leading brands seeks to make drivers genuinely excited to plug in and create intentional experiences that make charging as convenient as sipping on a Starbucks drink. The fast chargers will be strategically placed at key Starbucks locations along major routes, making it easier for EV drivers to top up their batteries while on the go.
This unique Cars and Coffee scenario will see EV owners charging their vehicles while enjoying a Tripleshot Espresso at their local Starbucks. The partnership begins on the West Coast, with Interstate 5 serving as the starting point for the charging network expansion. The collaboration is a step towards a greener future and a more sustainable transportation system.
