Introducing the Red Bull RB17 Hypercar: Get Ready to Be Impressed!

Red Bull Unveils RB17 Hypercar: A Formula 1 Car for the Road

After years of anticipation, Red Bull has finally revealed its first-ever customer track car, the RB17, at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. This two-seater mid-engine hypercar boasts over 1,200 horsepower from a 4.5-liter naturally aspirated V-10 engine with electric assistance that revs to an impressive 15,000 rpm. Weighing under 1,984 pounds, the RB17 promises Formula 1 levels of track performance.

Impressive Engineering Features of the RB17

The RB17’s carbon fiber two-seater monocoque chassis utilizes the engine as a stressed member, leading to its incredible lightweight design. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a six-speed sequential gearbox and a hydraulically locking active limited-slip differential. Interestingly, there is no reverse gear, with backing up being handled by an electric motor in the drivetrain.

Advanced Aerodynamics and Performance Features

Designed with Red Bull engineering genius Adrian Newey at the helm, the RB17 boasts impressive aerodynamics with up to 3,747 pounds of downforce. Active elements on the front and rear wings allow for adjustments to downforce levels in different scenarios. The car also features adjustable pushrod suspension, active height and roll control, hydraulically assisted power steering, and carbon brakes.

Customer-Centric Design and Ownership Experience

The RB17 is engineered for easy enjoyment, with custom seat options, an adjustable pedal box, and built-in storage for race suits and helmets. Owners can expect a 2-year/4,000-kilometer warranty and the option for normal servicing at Red Bull HQ, a service center, or on-location. The company plans to host private events for customers to experience track driving and exclusive access to Red Bull Racing celebrations and social events.

Exclusive Ownership and Production Details

Red Bull’s Adrian Newey expressed his excitement for the RB17 project, highlighting its power, speed, and beauty. While the pricing for the RB17 remains undisclosed, all 50 units have already been sold. Production is set to commence in the coming year, solidifying the RB17 as a pinnacle of hypercar engineering and performance.
