Genesis unveils tantalizing new supercar that remains unreachable for consumers

In the automotive world, Genesis has been known to tease exciting concepts that are not intended for production, much like Cadillac. The latest concept from Genesis, the Genesis X Gran Racer Vision Gran Turismo Concept, was recently unveiled at the 2024 Busan Motor Show in South Korea. This concept is a more aggressive version of the Genesis X Gran Berlinetta Concept, featuring a beefy aero package, a carbon fiber rear wing, fender vents, and a rear central fin.

Genesis has upgraded the hybrid powertrain in the new concept, with a V-6 front mid-mounted engine producing 870 hp and 790 lb-ft, along with a front-mounted electric motor delivering 670 hp and 225 lb-ft. These combine to provide a total system output of 1,540 hp and 1,051 lb-ft, significantly more powerful than the preceding concept. Despite these impressive figures, the Genesis X Gran Racer Vision Gran Turismo Concept exists only in the digital world of Gran Turismo and as a full-size scale model for static display.

The concept’s striking orange paint job ties it in with the Magma lineup, a new sub-brand from Genesis dedicated to performance vehicles. The interior of the concept has been transformed into a single-seater configuration, featuring a carbon fiber bucket seat, a fully integrated roll cage, and a racing yoke. More knobs and buttons have been added to adjust various settings, reflecting the race car theme. Genesis has not disclosed when the concept will be available to drive in Gran Turismo, as the game’s June update is still pending.
