The 2025 Ford Maverick is going through its first refresh, and it’s bringing some exciting updates for hybrid enthusiasts. One of the main highlights is the option to add all-wheel drive and an upgraded 4K Towing Package to the hybrid model. Additionally, there are enhancements in styling and convenience features across all trim levels of the truck.
The Exterior and Interior Updates
The changes to the 2025 Ford Maverick are most noticeable on the front fascia of the vehicle. The headlights have been redesigned, and the grille has been adjusted to match the new look. Each Maverick model now features a unique grille design. Inside the cabin, all Mavericks are now equipped with a larger 13.2-inch infotainment screen. This screen supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and it allows drivers to access the available 360-degree camera mode and split front and rear views.
Hybrid Upgrades
Under the hood, the 2025 Ford Maverick hybrid remains unchanged with a 2.5-liter hybrid four-cylinder engine delivering 191 horsepower and 155 pound-feet of torque. However, the hybrid model now offers the option for all-wheel drive, which has been a highly requested feature. Adding all-wheel drive also means switching to a multi-link independent rear suspension rather than the previous torsion-beam setup. The hybrid model retains its electronic CVT transmission instead of an eight-speed automatic.
Towing Capabilities
The hybrid Maverick with all-wheel drive can be equipped with the new 4K Towing Package, which increases the towing capacity from 2,000 pounds to 4,000 pounds. This enhancement allows drivers to have both fuel efficiency and towing capability without compromising on either.
Turbocharged Engine Option
The turbocharged 2.0-liter engine is still available, but it is now exclusively paired with all-wheel drive. This engine choice is also the only option for the Tremor trim level, maintaining an output of 238 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque.
Advanced Towing Features
Ford is introducing new optional towing features for the 2025 Maverick, including Pro Trailer Hitch Assist and Pro Trailer Backup Assist. These innovations make towing easier by automatically assisting in backing up to the trailer hitch and providing steering control for the truck and trailer via a knob. The Lariat and Tremor trim levels also come standard with adaptive cruise control, lane centering, stop-and-go functions, as well as traffic sign recognition.
Pricing and Availability
The 2025 Ford Maverick will have a starting price of $27,890 for the front-wheel drive XL model, which includes the $1,595 destination charge. Orders for the updated Maverick will open on August 1st, and deliveries are expected to begin later this year. These updates and enhancements make the 2025 Ford Maverick a more versatile and capable option for truck enthusiasts looking for a fuel-efficient and versatile vehicle.
