Fernando Alonso’s Valour Take on the Aston Martin Valiant

Aston Martin Unveils Exclusive Valiant Supercar Inspired by Fernando Alonso

Aston Martin has established itself as a purveyor of super-exclusive supercars, with the Valour being a prime example. However, some customers, including F1 racer Fernando Alonso, desired an even more special vehicle, leading to the creation of the Valiant. This new model boasts enhancements in power, weight reduction, and performance upgrades compared to the Valour.

Enhanced Power and Performance Features

The Valiant retains the same chassis and powertrain as the Valour, which includes a twin-turbo 5.2-liter V12 engine paired with a six-speed manual transmission and rear-wheel drive. The Valiant, however, generates an additional 30 horsepower for a total of 735, while torque remains at 555 pound-feet. Additionally, the suspension has been upgraded to adaptive versions of Multimatic’s renowned spool-valve shocks for improved handling.

Significant Weight Reduction and Exterior Changes

Aston Martin has not disclosed the total weight savings achieved with the Valiant, but it is undoubtedly lighter than the Valour due to various weight-reducing measures. These include a 3D-printed rear subframe that saves 6.6 pounds, a magnesium torque tube shedding 19 pounds, a lithium-ion battery reducing weight by 25.4 pounds, and magnesium wheels saving a total of 30.9 pounds. The carbon fiber grille, along with more aggressive aerodynamic elements such as a front spoiler, side skirts, and rear wing, further contribute to weight savings and improved performance.

Luxurious Interior Details

The interior of the Valiant features a standout shifter with its components visible through a cutaway center console, along with a smaller diameter steering wheel that eliminates switchgear. Recaro seats are enclosed within a half roll cage that includes anchor points for racing harnesses. The doors boast light mesh panels and fabric door pulls, enhancing the overall racing-inspired ambiance of the cabin.

Exclusive Availability and Future Showcases

Although the exact pricing of the Valiant remains undisclosed, it is expected to command a high price tag due to its exclusivity and performance features. With only 38 units produced, Aston Martin has likely already secured buyers for all available Valiants. Customers can anticipate receiving their cars by the end of the year, with the Valiant set to make a public appearance at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The highly-anticipated event will showcase the Valiant’s capabilities as it conquers the iconic hill climb.

In conclusion, the Aston Martin Valiant stands as a testament to the brand’s commitment to producing ultra-exclusive and high-performance supercars. With enhancements in power, weight reduction, and aerodynamics inspired by F1 champion Fernando Alonso, the Valiant is a rare and coveted gem in the world of luxury automobiles.
