An Authentic F1 Engine Powers This Porsche 911 to 625 HP

Lanzante Unveils the TAG Championship: A Unique 930 Turbo Restomod
Lanzante, a renowned British automotive company, has recently revealed their latest creation, the TAG Championship. This new version of the 930 Turbo restomod is lighter and more powerful than its predecessor. With only three examples being built, each representing one of McLaren’s three Formula 1 wins in the 1980s, the TAG Championship is set to make its debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
Enhanced Formula 1 Engine and Improved Performance
The TAG Championship is powered by a raced-used twin-turbocharged 1.5-liter V-6 TAG TTE P01 Formula 1 engine, re-engineered and built by Cosworth. With upgrades to pistons, valves, cams, lightweight titanium turbochargers, a new airbox, improved cooling, and an upgraded exhaust system, the engine now produces an impressive 625 horsepower and can rev up to 10,250 rpm. This power is sent to the wheels through a modified 993-generation six-speed manual transmission with bespoke ratios, allowing the car to reach speeds of up to 200 miles per hour.
Lightweight Construction and Carbon Fiber Bodywork
In addition to the increased power, Lanzante has focused on reducing weight for the TAG Championship. Carbon fiber has been used for the hood, doors, wings, roofs, bumpers, and front splitter, resulting in a weight reduction of 948 pounds compared to the original donor car. The interior has also been stripped down to save weight, with features like electric mirrors and windows being removed. However, a lightweight climate control system has been installed to maintain some level of comfort. Passengers sit in lightweight Recaro seats with six-point harnesses, while the driver gets a suede steering wheel for enhanced control.
Bespoke Wheels and Brakes for Superior Handling
The TAG Championship comes equipped with upgraded carbon-ceramic brakes with four-piston calipers both front and rear, providing superior stopping power. These components are complemented by 18-inch magnesium and carbon wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4 rubber, ensuring optimal grip and handling.
The Ultimate Fusion of Power and Luxury
There is no mention of the price for the TAG Championship, but with its bespoke bodywork and exceptional engine, it is expected to come with a hefty price tag. Lanzante has successfully created a unique restomod that combines Formula 1 technology and performance with modern features and lightweight construction. With only three examples being built, the TAG Championship is set to be a highly sought-after and exclusive vehicle for enthusiasts and collectors alike.
