Lincoln Aviator Review: Luxury SUV Gets a Tech Upgrade
The Lincoln Aviator was a standout luxury SUV when it was first introduced five years ago, offering a top-tier driving experience and competitive features compared to other luxury SUVs in its class. After a period of little change, Lincoln has finally updated the Aviator for the 2025 model year, bringing significant improvements to the interior, styling, and overall driving experience.
One of the most notable upgrades to the 2025 Lincoln Aviator is the new 13.2-inch touchscreen running the “Lincoln Digital Experience” interface. This system includes Android Automotive infotainment, allowing users to access Google Maps, Google Assistant, and various apps from the Google Play Store. The integration of Google Maps into the digital instrument panel enhances the overall user experience, making it easier to navigate and control music streaming apps.
The 2025 Lincoln Aviator retains its 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 engine, producing 400 horsepower and 415 pound-feet of torque. However, the 10-speed automatic transmission has been recalibrated for smoother shifts, providing a more refined driving experience. The Aviator’s ride quality remains impressive, thanks to the available air suspension and adaptive dampers, which offer a comfortable and serene driving experience.
Lincoln has focused on ensuring that the Aviator provides a relaxing and enjoyable environment for occupants. The V6 engine is quiet in the cabin, and the optional 28-speaker Revel audio system delivers a premium audio experience. The introduction of Blue Cruise, a hands-free driving feature, enhances highway driving by allowing for lane changes and adaptive lane positioning to avoid adjacent vehicles.
In addition to the technical updates, the 2025 Lincoln Aviator features a refreshed front fascia with Lincoln Embrace lighting animations that add a touch of luxury to the SUV. The quality of the Black Label themes remains consistent, with new options like the “Invitation” theme offering a sleek, black design with laser-etched Khaya wood trim. Second-row passengers benefit from an additional screen to control climate and audio settings, enhancing their overall comfort.
While the 2025 Lincoln Aviator offers a range of new features and improvements, the price has increased significantly compared to previous models. Despite the higher cost, the Aviator remains a top contender in the luxury SUV segment, offering a blend of performance, comfort, and technology. With its updated infotainment system, refined driving experience, and luxurious interior, the Lincoln Aviator continues to showcase American luxury at its finest.
