I’m Victoria Scott, Staff Writer at Motor1, and I have a passion for capturing film shots of vintage cars on the streets of Seattle. In this article, I will share my journey of incorporating photography into my daily routine, exploring new techniques, and finding joy in the present moment.
Exploring New Habits and Routines
Feeling restless and anxious from sitting at my desk all day, I decided to make a change. I now wake up at 5:00 AM every morning to take leisurely walks around Seattle. These walks, varying in routes and lengths, have become a vital part of my routine to stay active and present in the moment.
Finding Joy in Photography
Carrying my Nikon F4 with me on these walks has transformed my experience. By constantly seeking out interesting shots, I have learned to appreciate the beauty of the world around me. The act of capturing these moments on film has become a source of happiness and fulfillment in my daily life.
Adventures in Film Photography
Taking my camera to the Indy 500 was a bold move that paid off. Despite initial doubts, I was able to capture stunning shots of the race using Kodak ProImage 100 film. This experience has inspired me to continue pushing boundaries and exploring new possibilities in film photography.
Experimenting with Medium-Format Photography
Recently acquiring a medium-format camera has opened up new creative avenues for me. I am excited to embark on an automotive shoot using large 6 x 9 cm film, despite the cost and limited number of shots per roll. I am determined to make each frame count and create something truly special.
Continuing the Journey
As I continue to walk the streets of Seattle in search of vintage cars and unique scenes, I look forward to sharing my film captures with others. Each image tells a story and serves as a reminder of the beauty that can be found in everyday moments. Join me on this journey of discovery and appreciation for the art of film photography.
