Rolls-Royce Cullinan Series II: A Closer Look at the Best-Selling Model
Rolls-Royce broke another sales record in 2023, with the Cullinan being its best-selling model. To keep the momentum going, the luxury automaker has introduced a round of mid-cycle updates for the Cullinan Series II. These updates include design changes and new technology to enhance the overall driving experience.
### Exterior Updates
The exterior updates of the Cullinan Series II are relatively subtle, with the intention of not alienating buyers who have been loyal to the SUV since its debut in 2018. However, Rolls-Royce notes that these changes represent the most extensive Series II development in its history. Up front, the Cullinan features more streamlined-looking headlights, a redesigned grille that is illuminated for the first time, and larger air intakes. The rear bumper also features a brushed stainless-steel plate that runs under the car, and buyers have the option to upgrade to 23-inch wheels for the first time.
### Black Badge Trim
The popular Black Badge trim makes a return in the Cullinan Series II and will be available at launch. It features blacked-out design details both inside and out, adding a touch of luxury and exclusivity to the vehicle.
### Interior Technology and Design
The interior of the Cullinan Series II reflects the advancements in technology since its debut. Rolls-Royce has added a glass panel that stretches across the entire dashboard, housing the digital instrument cluster and the integrated infotainment system display. The dashboard features illuminated glass ahead of the front passenger, with the option for customers to customize their own motifs in collaboration with Rolls-Royce designers. Additionally, new types of upholstery and trim materials have been introduced, such as the Gray Stained Ash trim and the Duality Twill cloth upholstery developed in collaboration with a master weaver.
### Powertrain and Performance
The Cullinan Series II is powered by a twin-turbocharged 6.75-liter V12 engine, similar to its predecessor. While the exact output has not been announced, the previous model developed 563 horsepower and 627 pound-feet of torque. The Cullinan also retains its rear-wheel steering system and air suspension system for a smooth and luxurious driving experience.
### Availability and Pricing
The Cullinan Series II is set to go on sale soon, though pricing details have not yet been announced. With a focus on design, technology, and performance enhancements, the Cullinan Series II aims to continue the success of its predecessor as Rolls-Royce’s leading model.
